Shamel’s Place is an establishing orphanage in memory of our son Samuel Shamel Adama Kolleh. He was born on January 20th, 2018 and passed away on March 4th, 2018 due to multiple heart defects. Shamel’s place will be located in Careysburg, Montserrado County, Liberia. Our mission is to help change the lives of orphans in his honor through education, empowerment and community integration. Shamel’s Place vision is to see that all of the orphans in our care grow up to be prominent citizens in the society. If Shamel’s heart continues to beat through the heart of another child, then his 43 days on earth was not in vain...
Our objective is to give orphans hope, love and light. Hope, so they know that they are never alone. Love, so they feel God’s divine intervention. Light, so that they understand the world is a better place to live.
Together, we can ensure that an orphan gets to live and not exist. Together we can teach, motivate and inspire them to reach their full potential.
We are a community-based organization focused on helping make the world around us a better and happier place by giving orphaned children hope, love and light. With the help of our tireless staff, we will provide housing, educational, social and wellness facilities for kids to thrive. We will also organize fundraisers, exciting community-building events, and in-depth training sessions for our volunteers.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
The land pictured here is where the initial 25 bed housing, educational, vocational, social and wellness centers will be built. We have acquired 25 acres of land for this project and plan to expand the capacity of orphans in the near future with all of your help. Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We wouldn’t accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of the orphans in our community. Your contribution today helps us make a difference.
